The Ferrari 512S has no discernible casting differences from the normal HK version. It is even fully articulated like its domestic counterpart.The two reported paint colors, gold and silver metal flake, are wholly unknown in the Mattel line and the black detail paint found on the 1972 release is omitted. The color of the dark interior is indiscernible from the HK version, perhaps a bit darker. The glass is clear. About 5 examples in metal flake gold are confirmed. The metal flake silver Ferrari 512S was reported in February 2012. It appears to be legitimate but no other CIPSA car of any casting has been seen in this color.
